Q:will this work on a black and decker GH3000 electric string trimmer?
Asked by: frustrated
- 9/3/2013
A: These are really meant to be used on gas trimmers. All of the hardware included may allow you to attach it, but electric versions are not powerful enough to use it effectively. It will fit 100% of gas powered models, and it is recommended for use on that kind only.
UPDATE: THE CURRENT VERSION OF THIS TRIMMER HEAD IS FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH A WIDE RANGE OF BATTERY OPERATED TRIMMERS.

A: No. It is not designed for electric versions. Buy for replacement of any gas powered trimmer head. With the included hardware and adapters, it fits them all.

Q:Will this work on Electric Trimmers or only Gas? I have a Worx trimmer. Thanksw.
Asked by: Gene
- 9/29/2013
A: It is not ideal for that model. This replacement head is really intended for trimmers with gas powered motors, and many electric ones will not have enough power for it to work properly. It comes with any hardware you would need for gas versions, but may not adapt to your tool without additional stuff. Proceed with caution.

Q:how do I change the head on an echo straight shaft trimmer ?
Asked by: petey
- 9/5/2013
A: Installation is super easy for your model. It will be slightly different depending on if you have a shaft extension or not, but both directions will be listed below, so chose whichever applies.
WITH EXTENSION
1) Turn knob to loosen and take off existing trimmer head assembly.
2) Unscrew the SHAFT EXTENSION to expose the shorter, primary shaft.
3) Locate the right nut from the included hardware by seeing which one EASILY screws into place.
4) Stick that nut down into the recessed hex-shaped hole and hold in place with your finger.
5) While holding the nut in place, turn the whole head to screw the PivoTrim onto the shaft.
NO EXTENSION
1) Consult your owners manual to find out how to lock shaft rotation, then go ahead and lock it. (May be a key hole or a nut).
2) Unscrew your existing trimmer head assembly by hand to expose the threaded shaft. (May be left-hand threads, so try turning both ways if needed).
3) Sift through the pile of included nuts to determine which threads EASILY onto the shaft.
4) Place the nut you found into the recessed recessed hex cavity of the doughnut-looking head.
5) Hold the nut in place with your finger, and then tighten the PivoTrim onto the shaft by turning it with shaft rotation locked.

Q:Does it screw onto a 5/16" bolt? Most replacement heads I've found are for 3/8", and don't fit my Poulan. Why not put thread information on your spec page instead of saying it will fit all units, when in fact it may not?
Asked by: Dick
- 10/19/2013
A: Yes. It will work for your model. Sorry for not making this more clear. There will be different nuts and adapter pieces included to fit any gas trimmer out there, and certainly yours. No one install will ever use them all, but you will be guaranteed that it fits, and you have the parts necessary to replace the factory head on your trimmer.

Q:will this work on a feather light weedeater fl25c and does it have enough power not to bog the engine down running this style head?
Asked by: jimmie c
- 5/14/2014
A: Yes. It should fit your model. For equipment with less powerful motors, it is suggested to use 2 strings instead of 4. If it's not working as advertised, fully loaded, just take a couple lines off the spool, and it will perform much better due to the reduced weight.

Q:I bought his unit some time ago ,it was said that the strings would be replaced at no charge, how do I get the free replacements?
Asked by: John
- 6/10/2014
A: That was an offer run on TV that we are not affiliated with. The "free" line offered comes with a hefty shipping cost, so paying for line from us is actually cheaper than getting the "free"stuff.

Asked by: ed
- 6/17/2014
A: What you see, it what you get. We do not offer any "free" products, and we also don't charge shipping for each and every item in the box. You could purchase based on "deals" being offered, but you may end up spending more. With the "free" line specifically, our replacement line is actually cheaper once you factor in the shipping cost.

A: The shafts on the FS36 is too large for the pivotrim to fit over. The only way it would fir is if you were to drill the pivotrim head, spacer, etc out to the same diameter still shaft, them find a nut that fits the shaft.

Q:My daughter purchased a Homelite gas trimmer, model UT33600A last year along with a Pivotrim X4 trimmer head, however while using the trimmer last year the head came off and parts went flying. I'm attempting to put it back together but there is parts missing but I have no idea what they are. I've noticed there's a universal installation kit that comes with the Pivotrim X4 which I believe probably contains the missing parts. is it possible to purchased just the universal installation kit?

Q:When will you have the bottom covers only for sale? I have worn out 6 bottom covers but have all the other parts left over. It's wrong to buy a whole unit for $19 when all you need is a cover that should be $4.00 or less.
Asked by: Les Nichols
- 5/5/2015
A: The bottom covers are not a replacement part we are able to stock at this time. Sorry. You should look into getting the Pro model. It has a more durable design, so it should last longer for you.

Q:will this work on a wheeled walk behind trimmer. I have a new one from the Tractor Supply store and I am doing nothing but cutting the line. If this would not work do you have any suggestions as to what I can use so that I don't keep breaking the line?
Thanks
Asked by: RonB
- 6/12/2015
A: It will depend on the shaft design. if the existing head attaches like trimmer heads normally do, on standard models, then you should be able to get it to work. If it doesn't work out for some reason, you would be welcome to send it back as a return.

Q:Will this fit on a Craftsman trimmer model 316.711190 ? this trimmer does not have any nuts or bolts it has a shaft with no threads. thank you
Asked by: Dennis Allen
- 6/16/2015
A: It is designed to work on trimmers with traditional style heads that are remove-able. If the head on yours does not come off to reveal a threaded bolt of some kind, then it may not be compatible.

Q:Will this trimmer head string stand up to wire fencing, or is it likely to break off?
Asked by: John Savides
- 6/14/2016
A: It works very well along fences, or up against cement sidewalks and other areas. The pivoting action will prevent breaks, and cause the line to wear very slowly. You'll be able to trim right up to the edge, but you won't have to replace line a bunch of times to do a good job. Trim like normal, and get as close as you want, but never worry about damage or line breaks.

Q:I have A Pivot Trimmer head how do i get my free my free life time trimmer line
Asked by: Don
- 7/12/2016
A: The "free" line for life was offered via an infomercial that our company did not run. When you go to get it, they will charge you shipping. The total cost to you, after the shipping charge, is more than we charge for you to purchase the line normally. Avoid the "free stuff" gimmick, save money, and just get your replacement line from us. We carry genuine replacement line, and we have a low price guarantee on it.

Q: I have a 48V Toro 13" lithium powered string trimmer m/n 51488 that has "a lot more snot" than most gas powered weed wackers. Will the PivoTrim universal replacement head adapt to this machine? I understand that the PivoTrim is usually not recomended for cordless models as MOST are considered under powered. I assure you such is NOT the case with the Toro 51488.

Q:I can’t remove the pivot trim from my Ryobi trimmer curved shaft. everything turns and nothing to hold it still and I’m afraid to break the inside line that’s turns the head.. so what can I do?
Asked by: Aery
- 9/1/2019
A: Make sure you are turning the right way. If you steady the nut using a wrench, you can then twist the head with your hand, and that should avoid any damage.

Q:Can the string eyelets be purchased at any hardware stores??
Asked by: Jeff Johnson
- 6/10/2020
A: Replacement eyelets are no longer available. Sorry. If you get a new head, you'll notice that the pivots have been redesigned with metal reinforcement to make them last longer, and cause replacement to be unnecessary.
