Q: I have two questions: Should distilled water be used to keep the mist fountain cleaner and what aromatherapy is recommended for the best effect?
A: If you have hard water, using distilled water can keep the bowl and mister clean for longer periods. Using it may decrease mist output, so we only recommend going that route if it is necessary. Any essential oil can be added to the water, but beware of cheaper ones that have filler in them because this will dirty the water and coat the mist maker. We do carry some good ones here: Fragrance Oils

Q: My mother recently received her misting fountain and it has quit working. Any ideas we can try to see if we can correct the problem? Lights come on but they are only in the base and we have checked the plugs to make sure they are securely connected. Any ideas?
A: First, ensure that the mister is fully submerged in the water. If it is, and it's still not working right, please give us a call so that we can help you diagnose the problem.
Q: We have misplaced the center piece that hides the leg attachment to upper stand. Is there a replacement number that we can get for a reorder for the "Knockdown" metal stand? It is a mist of dreams.
A: Please give us a call. We should have a stand available.

A: The sturdy stand is very stable and does not tip easily. The cord color is black.
Q: Can the fountain be set to one color only instead or the rotating colors?

Q: I do not know if I have hard water. Should I play it safe and buy distilled water or am I save to use regular tap water? I want to do what will give me the longest life out of my mister.
A: The effects of hard water can be seen. If you notice a large amount of build-up over a short period, you should switch to bottled water.
Q: How much water do we put in the bowl? We can’t find out instruction booklet.
A: You basically fill it all the way up. The center portion of the bowl holds all the water. When filled, the water line should be 1/4"-1/2" below the upper rim to avoid over filling, but keep in mind that the mister must be fully submerged to function.
Q: My unit burned out can I order the piece or power part that gets plugged in the wall ???the original one was dropped and it’s just dead I so love it
A: You can find the replacement part you need here: https://www.simplygoodstuff.com/decor_mister_parts.html
Q: I inherited from uncle this model. It works great...but I am missing perhaps the parts that hold up the center small bowl. What can I do? It does not simply float..
A: We call the part you are looking for a "splash guard holder". You can find a replacement here: https://www.simplygoodstuff.com/decor_mister_parts.html
Q: Is the mister suppose to be fully emerged?
A: Submerged? Yes. The mister needs to be all-the-way under the water. The black thing on top is a low water sensor. If it is not under water, the unit will automatically shut down.
Q: This doesn't appear to be a water "fountain" Does it make the trickling water sounds that tiered water fountains make ?
A: Yes. You will get water sounds with this. It won't sound like rushing water, but there will be drips, drops, and the sound of trickling water to accompany the mist production.
