	I reviewed & reviewed mandoline slicers before deciding on the Borner V-Slicer. I've had it about 1-year now & it is wonderful! Was skeptical, but yes, it will even slice ripe tomatoes into very thin slices without mutilating them. I bought the combo set & am very glad I did, as I use all blades/pieces & it is a lot cheaper than purchasing each piece separately. Cleanup is very easy (basically just rinse it off). The slicer 'sits' on top of the bowl (doesn't 'click' on, which would be nice, as it would make it a little more stable), but it works well as long as you pay attention to what you are doing & are careful. This thing is SUPER sharp, so always use the guard & pay 100% attention when using it. I love it!
