Product Description

Reusable storage lids made from high quality, food grade silicone. Use instead of plastic wrap to cover almost any dish, bowl or plate with a more secure cover. Each set includes six different sizes, and with the combination, you will be able to cover things ranging from 2.75" - 10". It doesn't matter if they are round, square, oblong or rectangle because the versatile design allows these lids to stretch to any shape and still provide an airtight seal. The sturdy material is completely washable and reusable, and it is so strong that it actually provides a stack-able surface once in place. Convenient tabs along the outside edge provide handles for easy placement, and the material remains non-slip on metal, glass, plastic and other surfaces, so once in place they won't slide or fall off. Save the second half of a soda for later on, or seal an open pet food can to use the next day. Cover watermelon and cantaloupe for a simple and effective way to store the other half, or save leftovers from dinner without making the fridge stink. These are faster, stronger, cheaper and more effective than flimsy plastic film, and they are also perfect for replacing lost lids, or ones that cause annoyance. Dishwasher, oven, freezer and microwave safe.

Why They're Good

  • Superior Quality. Be careful with look-alike products. Ours have been thoroughly tested, and they are made from a stronger material that won't tear or slip off. Despite the thick construction, they stretch better, and provide a more sturdy lid.
  • Super Stretchy. Packed with elasticity, these things can expand to fit many shapes and sizes of containers, and then contract to create a strong hold.
  • Easily Adaptable. Round in shape, but effective on various containers with different geometry. Place on square or rectangle dishes just as easily as round or oval ones. With several sizes in each set, you are sure to have one for anything you need to cover.
  • Totally Reusable. Unlike plastic wrap, baggies and other disposable storage items, these can be used over and over again. They will retain they're shape and ability for many years, and they are easily washed when dirty.
  • Temperature Resistant. Safe for hot or cold conditions, you can use these in a freezer, a refrigerator, a microwave, a conventional oven and more.
  • Dishwasher Safe. Easily hand washed due to the silicone construction, but also safe for cleaning in a dishwasher for added convenience.
  • Extra Clingy. The material itself is pretty darn sticky, but added ridges on the interior provide extra grip on smoother materials like glass.

How To Use Them

With no special techniques involved, and a user friendly design, these things just work. It's pretty hard to get it wrong, but follow the steps below for optimal performance.
  1. Before you use one, make sure it is clean and dry.
  2. Select the right size for the dish or container you are covering for best results. You should use one that is slightly smaller than the item so you get a tight fit. If using one too small, it may try to pop off, so adjust as needed.
  3. Grab with two hands using the rounded tabs on the outside.
  4. Stretch outward until the lid is larger than the container, and then put in place, one side at a time.
  5. Continue pulling and secure the other side to finish covering the object. Adjust downward if necessary.
  6. Once in place, it will provide a solid and sturdy lid that will not slip off.
  7. To take one off, pull outward with the longer tab to release the bond. Once released, lift up to remove.
  8. Totally dishwasher safe when dirty, just place on the top rack.

Where To Use Them

Ideal for almost any condition, and adaptable to many shapes and sizes. There is a long list of uses for these, but take a look below for some ideas to get you started.
  • Leftover Food. Store food right in the pan, pot or dish you cooked it in. No need for extra things to wash, just cover and keep for later.
  • Unfinished Beverages. Whether in a cup, mug or can, you can easily save any drink for later, and because it will stay air tight, it will be more fresh when you go to finish it.
  • Fresh Fruit. Cantaloupe and watermelon can be difficult to save. With these, it is easy. Simply stretch over the unused half, and the inside will stay fresh.
  • Dishes On The Go. When bringing a dish to pass, or carrying something fresh to a party, cover and protect inside any container.
  • Food In the Fridge. Because they create stack-able containers they are ideal for saving space in your refrigerator.
  • Splatter Guard. Because they are microwave safe, you can keep the lid on when reheating pasta and other food prone to splattering, and the inside of your oven will stay clean.

Don't waste money on plastic film that you can only use once, and stop sifting through your cupboards to find the perfect lid. These stretchy alternatives will each work on a range of containers, and they never wear out. For this reason they are way more economical and eco-friendly in comparison. Other versions don't stay on as well, and have trouble fitting. These are made from top quality silicone that is totally safe, and incredibly reliable. Get a set to make it easy to store leftovers, and then continue using them to discover all of the other stuff they can do.

Silicone Stretch Lids
These work really well. Just wish they had one more---just slightly larger than the biggest one. I have few bowls that the largest lid doesn't fit on. Love the other ones though

Just bought these and am very impressed with the ease of use and quality. My sister bought a set as well and we have compared notes. The verdict: a very good product for the price.

good but not perfect
I love the concept and use of this product but there is one glaring flaw: it cannot be used on a dish taken from the refrigerator. Any moisture or condensation on the sides of the bowl or dish instantly renders the silicone too slippery to do any good-it just slides right off. Even drying the outside of the bowl doesn't work until it has come to room temperature. Only then can it be recovered and returned to the refrigerator. The lids are great as long if you have a lot of patience.

large one not fitting
I tried to use the largest one on a square pan since the cover on the box showed it fitting on a large rectangle pan. I tried and tried for about 5 minutes and it did not stretch to fit. I am disappointed.

Lids
I cannot keep them on my bowls or food they don't stay on. If I practice on a empty bowl that is dry it stays on but not when you have food on it. It does not seal a watermelon either. Very disappointing.

simplygoodstuff response: It sounds like excess moisture is causing the problem. A little is no big deal, but too much may cause slipping. If your bowl or fruit is wet, dry before applying. If the lid pops off when dry, that means it's too small, and you should use one size bigger. Please give us a call with any more questions or concerns.

Mrs.
I'm excited to use these and have already covered one bowl and a yogurt container with them. I think they'll come in handy, since I often have little bowls of leftovers from the kids. I'm looking forward to using less plastic wrap and aluminum foil. My only complaints are that I'm not sure if "food grade silicone" means BPA free, and the product took a long time to get here (was on backorder).

Because I'm a Cancer survivor, I'm worried about this product being made in China of inferior components that could produce a carcinogen when heated. What can you tell me about this?
Asked by:  on 4/5/2014
A
These are actually safer than other similar products sold elsewhere. They are made from a top quality silicone that is food safe, and FDA approved. Because it's 100% silicone, you know it's free of all of the known dangerous stuff typically found in cheaper plastics. No carcinogens will be produced when heated because they are heat-safe, up to 480 degrees.

Q
I bought one of your sets at the LA County Fair in Pomona, CA about 10 days ago. One of the first items I put it on was a can of corn that I had used half of. I did not see that there was a piece of metal sticking up from when I opened the can - my oversight! As I put the smallest size lid on, of course, the piece of metal can pierced the stretch lid and poked a whole in it. Is there any way I can purchase just that lid due to these circumstances - my fault but, I would hate not to have that size to complement the set and miss its utility? Thanks!
Asked by:  on 10/10/2013
A
We would love to be able to help you out. Unfortunately, we only have pre-bagged and boxed sets in our warehouse at this time. We are working to make each size available for purchase at whichever quantity you choose, but this is a new product, so we do not yet have stock that will allow this. Sorry.

Q
I bought a set of six lids but have been unable to attach any lids near the size of a glass cereal bowl I am using for storage. I have also applied the lids with the ridged sides against the glass. The silicone appears too slippery to stay on a glass bowl. There must be some particular step I am unaware of for it to stay. There were no instructions provided. Does anyone know any trick for it to work on glass?
Asked by:  on 10/13/2013
A
Yes. The main problem is that there are identical looking sets being sold that are pretty crappy in comparison. If your lids are slipping off, or ripping when stretched, the only thing you can do is get ones that actually work. We are not sure at this time if it is thinner material, or some sort of plastic that's not even silicone, but these knock off lids are being sold in many locations, online and off. Ours are thicker and much more clingy than other ones, so using them is incredibly simple. In your case, making sure the glass is free of any moisture may help a bit.

i just brought some lids this weekend from the Helen Brett Jewerly Show in New Orleans this weekend and my husband and i both can't get the lids to stay on any suggestions??
Asked by:  on 11/5/2013
A
There is no trick when you have good lids. Ours are so sticky that it is difficult to remove them from the packaging. Moisture may be causing the problem, but the other possibility is inferior material. They should stretch and cling easily.

Q
I just bought a set of 12 at the ct flower show and the set that was being displayed was all different sizes thus that's what I thought I was buying however when I opened the box at home they were all small lids. I would like to exchange them for the multiple size set. How can I do this?
Asked by:  on 2/24/2014
A
Unfortunately, we can't help you with this problem because those are not our lids. When you get them from us, you will receive a variety, and if anything was funny upon arrival, we would certainly make it right. Because these were different items purchased from some other person or company, we can not exchange them for you. Try to contact the building or promoter for the show, and they should have the contact information necessary to pursue this further.

Q
I bought a set at the Spencer, Iowa fair, and had one rip when stretched. Do you replace them?
Asked by:  on 10/7/2013
A
We would if you had ordered from us, but that's because ours don't rip. There are several inferior products being sold that look identical, but they are made with thinner, lower quality material. The thick, food-grade silicone that ours are made from can stretch without ripping, and they also cling better, and create a better seal. We are sorry to hear that you picked up a lower quality version, but you would have to get in contact with that person or company to see if they will make things right.

Q
I am having a difficult time with the lids. I stretch it out over a bowl and it slips off. It will not stick to the glass bowl. They are original lids, thick, ribbed edge for added stick. Does it matter if the bowl is warm from the contents? Help very frustrated as the demo worked so very well. Thanks.
Asked by:  on 5/19/2014
A
In general, our customers do not have this problem with the lids we carry. You may not have the same product because you got them somewhere else, but the slipping is probably due to moisture, not temperature. Check for condensation between the glass and the silicone as it may be causing the problem.

Q
Not sure if the ones that I bought or yours. But does your largest one work on watermelon halves? If it does is there anything special I should know to get it to work. Thank you
Asked by:  on 9/1/2014
A
Yes. You can save a melon by covering the cut open side. The exact lid you use will depend on the size of fruit you are saving, but the large size we sell can certainly handle watermelons. For fruit with a smooth rind, wiping to make sure it's dry will help the lid stay in place. It's also best if you choose a lid that's slightly smaller than the diameter of the fruit to ensure a tight fit.

I purchased "Super Stretchy Lids" at the RV show in Tampa Florida on 1/15/14 and I can not get them to stay on and seal. Is there any way you can help me identify if I have the authentic product or an inferior knock off? The box has no identification or company name or web site or phone # on it. Thank you for any assistance you can provide. Cathy
Asked by:  on 1/20/2014
A
We are not aware of any fool proof way to tell the difference by packaging or appearance, but if yours are not staying in place, you probably have the cheap ones. A good set should be so clingy that they are actually difficult to remove from the plastic packaging when you first get them.
